A native of Southern California, Amanda has been drawing and painting for most of her life. Growing up in an artistic family, she knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist. After receiving a BFA and Art History Degree from Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles, she worked in the museum field for over 10 years, including the J. Paul Getty Museum. In 1996 she became an architectural illustrator. Residing in Orange County, Amanda continued to grow independently as an artist throughout the years, painting primarily in watercolor. Several years ago she rediscovered her passion for painting in oils. Her strong interst in the Old Dutch Masters, and a love of still-life paintings by 19th century French artists, has further inspired her. Amanda enjoys creating still-life paintings that evoke an early American and European feel. With a love of the outdoors, she has begun adding landscape paintings to her collection, Plein Air and studio work. In addition, she recently began a series of paintings from her trip to Italy. To further advance her artistic knowledge and abilities as an oil painter, Amanda attends painting workshops. She has studied with prominent oil painters Debra Huse and Jacqueline Kamin. She is a member of Southern California Plein Air Painters Association, Oil Painters of America and American Women Artists.
